Today was a full day for Lauren as she went out with the parents to go visiting family. She went to drop off a ham to Uncle Giff but he wasn't in the office today. She did get to visit with Uncle Clem and Uncle Cliff.
They went shopping afterwards and then they finally made it back to the house. Here she is playing on the rug with her pink jacket on. The pink jacket is from Uncle Kenny and she was sure warm in it.

Her hair is getting longer and a little more unruly as the wisps of hair do not seem to lay flat.
After work Eric and I went to have dinner with her and the Grandparents. She got to sit at the table with us and she was eating freshly steamed peas and baked potato.

Yes in the picture below she has a little potato on her chin.

She wasn't getting very full eating one pea here and there so we decided to feed her some applesauce that was left over from her morning meal. Toward the end of the feeding she was getting fussy so I was nom noming her fingers. She actually thinks its funny when I do this to her. I got her to squeal and laugh in delight. This encouraged her to finish her applesauce.

Grandpa has also been working on object names and permanence with her. On Friday 2/22 he showed me something that Lauren has learned. When I went to pick her up he said, "Come upstairs I want to show you something." Curiously I followed wondering what it could be. We went into the room and as he was holding her he would ask her, "Where's the clown?" And on cue she would look around the room and rest her eyes on the clown picture that is hanging on the wall. Grandpa would reaffirm, "Yes, there it is up there." We went downstairs and he showed me how she could find the clock and the flowers outside too. Here they are with the clown picture she recognizes.

When we got home and I was putting her to bed. I read her a book and asked her "Where's the clown?" She looked all over the room and couldn't find one so she just looked at me with a quizzical expression. There was one in the book I was reading but she looked rather disappointed she couldn't find the picture on the wall. I guess I really should just reinforce objects that exist in her line of sight...
Thanks to Grandpa for all the pictures!
