This past weekend

We watched Hannah and Sophie for a little bit on Saturday as their parents were prepping for their birthday party. Here they are watching some Monsters, Inc. and kind of playing some play-doh.

On Sunday we were down in Mountain View so we hit up the small park near our old place.

Lauren playing with a spinning thing giving Mommy a big smile.

I just think her laugh and smile are precious so here is a video.

More singing to Grandma

I know its past Grandma's birthday but I thought this was cute. We are playing in Kennedy park in Union City.

Those are Bart tracks in the background so it does get loud sometimes but we got the singing in before it came :)

McDonald's Playplace

A McDonald's near us redecorated/refurbished their play area so we went to go check it out. If you go early in the morning (8-9am) timeframe there isn't any other children there to run over my little one.

Lauren on the cheetah. Boy does she look small.

Jumping off the butterfly but not landing on her feet.

Playing with the twins in the big play structure.

Lamb's ear

Well that's what Auntie Vincy said the plant was called. We went to a park where this plant was after a breakfast one morning.
Lauren was hesitant at first but once she felt how soft it was she had fun touching it. It was definitely hairy and soft.

This is just a photo of Lauren playing in the park. She still likes to put the bucket on her head. She was walking along some stroller tracks saying it was a train track.

The pumpkin post

I don't think I ever ended up posting these pics of Lauren when she was just a few months old and we bought a pumpkin from her first pumpkin patch trip.
Here is what ended up happening:

Well we think she can fit in there...

We carved the pumpkin and put a plastic bag to protect her clothing. Alas that wasn't gonna work. Back to the drawing board.

Ah here she is in just her diaper. Our little pumpkin.

Daddy and his pumpkin.

It was wet and a little slimy in there and she didn't like it all that much, but the pics of her crying are missing (hee hee)

She thought it was all fun then.... but what will her reaction be to this when she grows up?

We were heading back from Mustard's for Mom's birthday lunch and stopped by some outlets. It was hot, but there were some little kid vending rides that she wanted to climb and play on.

None of us had 2 quarters, so we made do, and probably had more fun than the next kid.

She had a ball, and the ride lasted for about 10 minutes... AND she was able to control it!

This is what happens when creativity kicks in instead of money!

Practicing Colors with Uncle David

We were visiting over Auntie Andi's house and Uncle David was playing the drums with Lauren practicing color recognition.

As you can see by these pictures David had to hold her up to play. Thanks Uncle David :)

She loved the letter mat and would jump on the letter you ask her to find. Thanks for having us over :)

We're practicing

It is Grandma's birthday on Saturday so I told Lauren that she has to practice singing Happy Birthday. I know it isn't your birthday yet Ama but this one is for you!

Since there is a lot of background noise I would turn the volume down. You can still hear her singing.

Some stills from playing outside

Sophie looking as they both pour water on themselves.

Hannah looking.

Trying to get all three to look.

Lauren and her fashionable attire: pink flower hat, flowery onesie, and her blue and white boots she likes to splash in the water in.

Playing Outside

Soph and Hann came to visit for a couple hours while the parental units went out to dinner. Here is some video of them playing with the water.

I love how Sophie pours the water on herself and kind of looks at her clothes like "Why are they wet?"

ABC's

Even though she knows all her letters by name (both capitalized and lower case) she never really says her ABC's even though it is one of her favorite songs to hear. She doesn't normally perform for me but I got her to say most of the alphabet. She still needs prompting especially at H since she seems to get distracted.

Twinkle Twinkle

We were playing blocks and I asked her to sing twinkle twinkle for me.
She doesn't end the song correctly because she is copying some character on one of the shows she watches.

It is funny how when I correct her with the word "are" she goes into her abc's :)
Yes, that is slober, I think she is teething again.

playing at home

We play all sorts of things at home: blocks, coloring, playdoh.. and maybe a little dress up.

Of course Lauren's idea of dress up sometimes is putting on Daddy's clothes. Yes she put on three pairs of Daddy's shorts. She thought it was funny that one of the shorts was a hoodie. She put them on correctly at first but it wouldn't stay on/up so she improvised.

This is a "whale" that she colored in. She is drawing most of her objects with a purple crayon now because we read the book "Harold and the purple crayon"

Here she drew a "K" in the middle of my orange circle. I don't think it was intentional but after she drew it she said "K mommy, K"

Lauren Blowing Bubbles

Thanks Auntie Bec Bec

Auntie Bec Bec took pity on Lauren and got in the the little pool and hung out with her in there for a little bit. Thanks Auntie Bec Bec, it was super sweet of you!

Lauren "jump, jumping"

On the little step showing Auntie Bec Bec how to blow bubbles and
kick kick!

Yes, that diaper is huge!

We didn't have a swim diaper for Lauren. We should have just taken the diaper off and just let her wear the underwear. Those diapers sure do hold a lot of water.

The little pool

We went to Baby Chase's Red Egg and Ginger party this past weekend and it was nice and hot outside. Since the festivities took place at our Auntie Harr's house, we got to hang out in the back by the pool. Lauren saw the pool and really wanted to get in, or at least splash splash! She wanted to go into the hot tub aka "little pool" not the big pool.

Hanging out with Auntie Bec Bec and Layla.

Showing how she likes to kick kick in the water!

"Hmm maybe I can get in?"

Mommy forgot to bring her sun hat but she still got to play in the sun.

Gilroy Gardens

We traveled out to Gilroy Gardens to meet up with Auntie Joy and her brood. We ended up spending the day going on the rides and playing in the water.

On the strawberry ride that made Mommy a little dizzy.

Riding on the fire engine. This was the first ride she got to ride by herself. There was no one else in line so she was the only one on the ride.

Video of her all by herself...

Here Daddy helps her get into the second ride she got to ride all by herself. The purple No. 9 car.

"Hey, does this horn work?"

Hi Mommy and Daddy!

Driving like a pro with her hands at 3 and 9 :P
