January 28, 2008

Lauren went up to visit Tai Tai today and unfortunately we don't have any pictures. The grandparents said she had a good time, just talking to Tai Tai. This pic is of her today in her playpen. She is wearing a nice warm hat and her blanket sleeper. How does Grandpa get so many good pictures of her??

Yesterday I thought it would be fun to get one of her first pictures against a growth chart. The ducky growth chart in the pictures is from Uncle Giff. There are little slots on it that you can stick pictures in. It is a nice little keepsake for Lauren.

I couldn't get her to stand up straight, but I did try!

"Wait, how tall am I??"
"Ok Daddy I will look at you now."

January 25, 2008

It is my niece Catherine's birthday today so I just wanted to wish her a Happy 2nd Birthday!

So it has been a few days since I posted so I have a few pictures to share.

Let us start out with happy Lauren at the Grandparents. I love her big smile!

The other night Eric and Lauren were play wrestling and here she is trying to pin down Daddy.

"I win, I win!" Lauren says with a big smile!

Another thing that Lauren has been doing the past few days is trying to stand. She likes standing up against the couch so Eric thought it would be funny to lean her against it.
Later that evening Sophie came over to visit. Here they are just hanging out posing for the camera.

And then a few minutes later... mischief!

This last photo is a remnant from our trip to SD.
You can't see it but she has the cow's leg in her mouth.
The shirt is from a collection of long-sleeve onesies Greg and Juney gave to her when she was born. Alas, she is starting to outgrow them. She wears them under all her clothes nowadays since it has been a bit chilly.

Playing around

Sometimes we play on the bed and here she is surrounded by her little toys.

See mom I can stick the whole thing in my mouth!

So here she is later on in the day. She is able to get the rings off, and yes she put each one in her mouth to see if the colors taste different. Teaching her to put them back on again, well thats another story.

Here are also some additional photos from our trip last weekend. She is trying to figure out what this thing does. What channel is that Charger game on again?

Oh yah, don't hand her the remote unless you like it covered in saliva.

Here she is playing with her straw. Grandpa has extra in his pocket just in case.

A trip with the Grandparents

First off I want to say thank you Grandma and Grandpa for taking us on this little trip. We had a good time and Lauren got to spend some quality time with you.

When we travel we don't take the tub along for baths so the kitchen sink becomes her bathtub.
She likes baths so the even though the sink is smaller she still seems to enjoy herself. Here are some action shots of her taking her bath.

Of course this was just a small part of the trip, and it was a nice weekend with the grandparents. We got to take walks along the pier where she got to see her first surfers. She also got to see a big pelican that hangs out on the railing by the bait shop. She didn't seem to interested in the bird.

Early mornings on this trip were spent on this blanket playing with her toys. Here she is on the blanket posing for Grandpa. I guess we need to do something about the fly-aways in her hair and is that slobber running down her chin? Nonetheless she looks like a big girl in this picture.

During this trip we also found out she has a fascination with straws. I guess a lot of babies do but it is still fun to watch her play with one.

(outfit: Shirt from Meilee, pants from my sister Joy and cute socks from Auntie Harr)

And lastly how can I resist putting up this picture? I guess her toes count as toys too.

Thanks for all the great pictures Grandpa!

The Stats

She had her six month appointment today and here are the stats:

Length: 26 1/4 " (75th percentile)
Weight: 15 lbs 13 oz (50th percentile)
Head Circumference: 42 cm (50th percentile)

Everything went well at the appointment. Lauren actually wanted to keep Dr. Kenney's stethoscope. She grabs anything within reach and holds on tight. Of course Eric and I thought it was funny. She went down in her weight percentile but the doctor said it was not anything to be concerned about.

Here are the pictures I promised.

Turning over

So getting her to turn from her tummy to her back was very difficult for us because she really hated tummy time. The reverse, back to tummy, was much easier and she pretty much did it on her own without too much coaching. Her is a clip of her doing it. My recording started a little late, she does start on her back but somehow the recording starts when she is on her side. I love her smile at the end.

She is six months old today and she has her six month checkup tomorrow. I will post pictures of her on the burly bear scale and gorrilla scale tomorrow!

Happy Baby

Grandpa always takes great pictures of Lauren. Here she is playing with her Tigger rattle.

Eric had a little zorbert session with Lauren tonight and she was squealing in glee. The first pic is just of Eric giving her a kiss, which is still cute.

Here she is squealing in delight!

A close-up pic of her laughing.
Thanks Uncle Kenny for the warm jacket. The ears on this thing are cute.

January 4, 2008

It has been a while since I took a picture of her in the boppy. Where did the days go when she fit in this thing. If you look really hard you can see the little flip in her hair.

Here she is playing with her shaped blocks. Of course they get to go into the mouth for a taste.

She likes to play with things and then drop them over the sides. You see it in action here with the blocks on the side.

I thought this picture was funny because she looks like she is drunk. Its funny what kind of pictures I get with the slow shutter.

Happy New Year!!

Spending New Year's Day with Auntie Mona and Uncle Vince!
If you were wondering where some of the Christmas photos were, well here they are.

Yum, Taggie blanket.

Christmas Morning opening presents with Mom.

Of course I opened presents with Dad too... Wait is that tissue paper in my mouth?

Is there another present over there?

Happy Reindeer with Daddy

I love this picture of Grandma and Lauren. Look at those cheeks on Lauren.
