Birthday Celebration

We had a birthday celebration for Lauren on Sunday with some family and friends. Thank you everyone for coming and celebrating with Lauren. She liked the cupcake but not the frosting.
We didn't take many pictures of Lauren so I am hoping that if any of the family took any pics if they could send it our way.

Lauren and Daddy. Lauren showing Daddy how much she likes her Dora balloon.

Kari, Hannah, Lauren and Mommy pose for Auntie Joy. Thanks Auntie Joy for taking the pictures of us.

Thanks to Grandma who bought the cute outfit for Lauren's special day.

We do have video of Lauren blowing out her candle and once we convert the format I promise to post it up here.

One more pic I almost forgot to post. This one is for you Dave. We missed you on Sunday!

Exercising with Grandpa

Listen very carefully during this video for what Lauren is saying.

Sorry, about all the background noise. You almost miss Lauren saying it. Thanks Grandpa for showing Lauren how to exercise and also for teaching her what the new words mean.

Swim Class

So the last swim class for this session was this past Saturday. They normally do not let you take any pictures except for on the last day so here are some pics of me and Lauren during class.

Here we are from far away, you can also see Auntie Joy and Hannah, Uncle Der and Soph Soph.

I am intently listening to the teacher but Lauren is staring off into space. This class is a little late for her so she is always pretty mellow in class. Soph Soph on the other hand is always smiling and splashing.

One part of the class is to sing a song as we go around in a circle. Lauren is looking at our teacher Miss Dinah with the floatie turtle.

We were allowed to pick out a toy to play with in the water. So I let Lauren pick. I am showing her the blue cup that has holes at the bottom.

She of course thinks its a cup you can drink out of so she shows Mommy what to do, to my dismay. Thank goodness there are holes on the bottom else she would of downed quite a bit of yucky pool water.

I show Lauren another use for the cup. She doesn't necessarily like the water being poured on her but she doesn't hate it either.

"Hi Daddy!"
We were going to put the toy away because we were practicing flipping over with our teacher.

Miss Dinah was nice enough to pose with Lauren at the end of class. She of course did not want to look at the camera at the same time the teacher would.

Overall it was a fun class as Lauren would just chill in the water. Lots to work on but its nice to spend some time hanging out.

A visit to Daddy's work

On Thursday we went down to visit Daddy at his work. The were having some event so he had some free time to visit with us. It was a hot day but Lauren didn't seem to bothered by it.

Daddy's beautiful smile with Lauren on his lap.

"Oh I like the vew from up here!"

"Does this hat come off? I want to play with the hair."

"You don't need to hold both my hands Mommy, I can walk with just you holding one."

She will bat my hand away if I try to hold both her hands. I was of course worried because we were on pavement and I didn't want her to scratch up her knees.

This picture wasn't from the same day but I am including it because she looks so happy. I love her happy pics.

Our little toddler

Lauren is getting better at "walking" every day. Here she is toddling around. We also have been trying to teach her to let go of objects after she has held them for a while. Here she is putting a basketball in the basket. She is so proud afterward.

Ok, the first one didn't make it into the basket. But the effort does account for something!

This past weekend

This past weekend was pretty full for Lauren, Mommy and Daddy. This picture was at the end of the busy Father's Day weekend. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there.

On Saturday we went to the Oakland Zoo with our friends Auntie Joy, Uncle Der, Sophie, Hannah and Auntie Dana.

Lauren missed the first part of the zoo because she needed a nap. She fell asleep on the way to the zoo so mommy packaged her up and carried her for the first part of the walk. Here is a pic of us after she woke up.
In this pic you can see the top tooth coming in.

Here is a pic of the twins who were awake the whole time!

After the zoo, Auntie Dana hung out with us at home. Here Lauren is showing Auntie Dana how much she likes computers.
"See Auntie Dana, I can push this button"
The cute dress in the pic was given to Lauren by Auntie Juney.

"I wanna see whats on the screen!"
Thanks for hanging out with us Auntie Dana, we had a good time!

The picture below is of Lauren looking at the clock in our living room. I had her look at the clock so Daddy could get a picture of her since she doesn't quite pose for the camera yet.

11 months old

Lauren turned 11 months old today June 10, 2008. Here are some pictures of her around the house.

Some of the things she has done in the past month:
  • Gotten some teeth. The top one is now growing in. It is harder to get a pic of that one unless she is really cheesing it when she smiles
  • Walks a few steps now without looking for something to hold onto
  • Recognizing more object names and trying to say them. She definitely tries to say "ball". She will sometimes repeat the sounds you are making
  • Zorberting Mommy and laughing about it afterwards
  • Blowing kisses. Grandma and Grandpa are working on that one.

Here are some pics of her around the house.

Playing with her toys.

Showing us her bottom tooth. I actually don't know how Eric got her to open her mouth that way.

Playing with a balloon that Auntie Harr got her a month ago.

I can hold this balloon with one hand!!

Taking a nap on Mommy and Daddy's bed.

A trip to SD

So for those faithful out there I apologize for not posting in the past few days. I was down in SD for a few days and didn't get a chance to download photos.

On Saturday, June 7th, we went to a party for my nephew Jordan whose birthday was June 3rd. Here are a bunch of pictures from that party.

Auntie Joy, Lauren, Uncle Greg, Mommy, and Auntie Jan. Too bad Lauren wasn't ready to smile.

Uncle Greg and Lauren trying out walking.

Uncle Vince with the Lauren and Catherine.

Lauren with Grandma Aurora, who was very happy to see her.

Lauren looking/playing with bubbles

Lauren wanted to try the singstar game with grandma.

Mommy playing singstar and Lauren helping out.

Cake with Lauren's cousins.

Checking out cousin Jordan's truck with Mommy.

On Sunday when we came back we had lunch with the Grandparents and Auntie Juney and Uncle Greg. It was a nice way to end the weekend.

Lauren and a teething biscuit on Uncle Greg's lap.

The table with the seat made for Lauren

Ok these pictures were from the Mother's Day celebration hosted by June, Greg, Andi and Paul so they are a little old. Thanks to Rosanna for sending me the pics since I was a bad Mommy and didn't bring my own camera.

Eating cheerios with Auntie Harr.

At the party there was a table with a little cutout in it. Lauren seemed to like to sit in it. She probably could have sat in the little area for the whole party, but when the plates of food started appearing on the table Lauren wanted to touch all of them.

On the outside of the table holding on for dear life.

Getting closer to the spot.

This little spot is fun, and I can eat cheerios while I play in here.

This was just a great pic of June and Tai Tai so I had to post it!
