Spending time with family in Windsor, CA

This is very belated, but we got to spend some time with Amma for her birthday up in Windsor, CA. Thank you Amma and Papa for having all of us up there with you!
We got to swim, eat good food and just hang out with family. We had a wonderful time :)

Lauren is blowing bubbles that she received from Uncle Kenny. Cubbie doesn't seem to enjoy it as much as Lauren does.

Too busy to talk to Mommy because she is playing on Uncle Kenny's iphone.

Lauren got to play at a little park with Daddy in downtown Windsor as the rest of us strolled through the farmer's market.

I never get tired of taking pics of Lauren and her Daddy. She is so small here, but all too soon she will be big and possibly not holding her Daddy's hand anymore...

I only caught the end of the song to Grandma. She is a little sad only because we are leaving and she wanted to stay and play "just a little more"
We love you Amma and we hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Playdate with the Sakai Girls

Auntie Joy and Uncle Der left the twins over our house for a little playdate as they went on their own date for their Anniversary. Thanks Auntie Dana for helping us out with the girls!
The day included playing play doh, eating lunch, napping and playing outside!

Eating some grilled cheese sandwiches. Hannah showing us what was in her mouth.

Sophie, absolutely mesmerized by the bubble blowing octopus.

Action shot in the jumpy (Thanks Auntie Jan for letting us borrow it!)

Lauren decided to blow up her Dora ball just a little bit more

Jumpy action

"When it gets really high I'm gonna jump and get it!"

"Did I get it Mommy? Am I close?"

Lauren back in the day

I was looking at a picture of Aubrie and Amma on her website and thought of Lauren and the fact she had a picture similar to it. I actually found it and thought it would be neat to see them together.

They are close in age here probably a few weeks apart.

Harvest Time

This spring and summer Lauren has helped Papa watering, weeding, and fertilizing the vegetable garden. Today, we harvested some of the vegetables.

Here we are: hunting and digging for potatoes.

Here's what we found!

I'm helping to clean them.

Here are some beets and squash we cut.....(Cubbie supervised.)

I'm helping Amma cook the beets.

They actually taste really sweet....but they make my mouth and tongue red.

I got to have this lemon cream pie because I ate all my dinner.

Mmmmm....that was good!

Big Words are easy...

One of Lauren's favorite books is "Big Words for Little People" which was given to her by her Uncle Greg and Auntie June. Here she is "read-membering" part of the book. She isn't even looking at the words she just knows what happens on that particular page. She is speed speaking though because she knows I am recording her. She normally speaks a lot slower than what is depicted in the video.

Well as you see in the next video, once she memorizes a book she just wants to talk about what is going on in the book all the sub-stories that go on in the images the book has.
This of course is partially my (mommy) fault since when I read her the book we stray into what else is going on in the pictures.

Bowling

Uncle Greg, Auntie June and Aubrie got Lauren a special present... A Bowling Set!
Lauren has been bowling with her Mommy and Daddy before and she knows that normal bowling balls are too heavy and big for her right now. She even says "When I get bigger I can bowl with Mommy and Daddy!"
Well now she can practice her aim and patience! Of course the manual pin setting by Mommy and Daddy comes as part of the set.

Woo Hoo! She got all of them down!

Thank you for the cute purple outfit Auntie Harr. We think she looked adorable.

Hanging out with the girls

Lauren got to meet some of her cool girl cousins on the Ko side this past Sunday.

Thanks Emilie, Baloney (Delaney), and Jackie for being such cool older cousins!

Playing with her toys (the Ko boys toys when they were little)

Hanging out after a lot of playing (bubbles, chase and eating ice cream!)

Hopping the Lily Pads

At the Oakland Zoo, Lauren likes to hop on the Lily Pads.
She usually holds my hand when she steps from one pad to the next....

........but now, she can do it all by herself (and not fall into the pond).
